What service does BookMyCostume Provide?

BookMyCostume is the leading online store in India where you can choose to rent or buy from hundreds of costume options, all hand delivered and picked up from your doorstep. The costumes are listed on the BookMyCostume website under various categories or occasions sections. Check the collection here.

How can I book my costume?

It is simple, browse the categories and products or search for your fancy dress costume on the website. Select the costume(s) you like. On the costume page, select the “rent” or “buy” option along with size preference and click "Add to Cart" and “Checkout”. Add your personal and shipping details, make the payment, and it is done!

Does BookMyCostume Offer Discounts And have Coupon Partners?

Yes we do offer discounts when you Buy the Costume. You Can Browse our Offers on Our Coupon Partners CouponzguruCouponRani. A wholesale discount is also available if you have a bulk costumes requirement. You may mail us or call us to discuss the same. We request you to share the style of costume, size, and quantity of each product that you require. We will give you a discount on the same.

What is the Policy on Returns? Can we keep the Rented Costume and refuse to return it?

There is no option to return costumes in the Buy option unless there is an error in sending wrong costume, wrong size, or with manufacturing defect. However the Rent option is only the marketing name of the option to Buy almost new-like costumes. A customer can choose to keep it or after using it, there is an option to return the goods with predefined dates. We return Rs. 500 security deposit on receiving the costume back. So if the costume is not returned, we forfeit the security deposit.

An Item added to my Cart was Sold out in the checkout. How is it possible?

There are certain times when our costumes are in great demand. Your fancy dress costume is not booked till the time you have made the payment. So while you are still booking your order, someone else might make the payment and book the last available costume. We urge you to complete the costume booking process at the earliest.

I really need the costume, can BookMyCostume help?

Sure! We make every effort to make our customers happy & satisfied. In case you really need a costume, we will try to source the costume specially for you. Feel free to get in touch with us for special requests.  We go the extra mile.

Is it possible to cancel the order?

The order can be cancelled within 24 hours of the placing the order. A nominal charge would be deducted from the payment. Any order cancellations after the shipment has left our warehouse would result in full booking-charges being deducted from your payment. Your order request might mean that we deny someone else's order so kindly make cancellations only if it is very important.

For international orders, its not possible to refund the money once shipment has left the warehouse physically. Also, please note that due to customs laws, some items are prohibited to pass international borders and therefore any removal of prohibitive item by authorities such as gun, sword etc. is not in our control during transit. 

How do I edit my order details

Editing of order details should be done quickly and only when it is very necessary. We will try that your order is edited if possible. Login to your account to make changes to the order. You also need to mail us at contact@bookmycostume.com informing us about the changes immediately. In case of urgent requests, please call our customer helpline. We'll try to do our best.

How can I find and book the costumes shown in the banner images on websites and social media pages?

The costumes and dresses shown in the banner images are purely for representation purpose. We do not commit availability of such costumes. Kindly check out the product page images and product description page for accurate reflection of what you will receive barring minor color difference due to lighting and image capture and accessory inclusions.

 

  

PAYMENTS & TAXES

How much tax is levied on a costume order? Is it over and above the price of the product?

BookMyCostume abides by all Indian tax laws. The price of the product mentioned on the website includes all taxes. Therefore do not worry about additional tax payments.

However for the international orders with the destination outside India, there might be some customs duty / tax that might have to be borne by the customer if the authorities so require.

How can I pay for my order?

BookMyCostume accepts payments in many ways - Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking, wallet, and COD. Just enter your card/bank details on the payments page and complete the transaction. For rental, prepaid payments are required. In case you face any issues, you can contact us immediately.

What is COD?

We apologize but we no longer accept orders on COD. COD (Cash on Delivery) allows you to pay for your order with cash at the time of delivery. This option used to be available on limited pincodes.

Can I pay through COD?

We apologize but we no longer accept orders on COD. COD payment option was available only for costumes that were bought and was not available for rented dresses. COD option was available only in select cities and pin codes. 

Why is a security deposit charged?

BookMyCostume takes extra care in making its costumes and maintaining them. We expect the same care from our customers. As a security for our costume, a security fee is charged.

Will I get all my security deposit back?

The security deposit is refundable after paying for the rental charge from the payment amount. If the costume is not torn, damaged, dirty and any accessory is not broken, then the full security is refunded. In case the costume has any or multiple issues from the above, relevant charges will be deducted and the remaining amount (if any) refunded. The final decision on the security deposit will be taken by BookMyCostume team and its management and the customer is expected to abide by the same. The team assures you that only if necessary will any security deposit be deducted and will act in good faith.

How will I get my security deposit back?

The security deposit is refunded in the same account from which the payment was made.

When will I receive my security deposit?

The security deposit refund is initiated as soon as the dress is received and verification for any damage is completed. The return of the costume takes around 5-10 days (there can be occasional delays). The money should be credited by your bank within 7 working days after the refund is initiated.

Are my banking and card details safe?

BookMyCostume assures you that all your payment details are safe with us. We comply with highest security standards. All information is encrypted 2048-bit to ensure total safety.

 

 

RETURNS, EXCHANGES, AND REGULAR RENTAL RETURN-PICKUPS 

Can I return a costume I bought?

In case of size issue, we offer 1-day exchange policy after delivery for all costumers who "buy" costumes from BookMyCostume online store. We make every effort that the size mismatch does not happen (using our size chart). We request you to order the size as per the child's growth rather than actual age. The tag of the costume should not be broken and all original packaging should be maintained. Unwashed, unused, or defective merchandise may be exchanged in case of available stock. In case of return, the tags and original packing if any should be intact.

How will I get the refund for returned items

Once the return shipment meets the policy criterion, the amount paid by you is refunded in your BookMyCostume account. It can be used as cash for future purchases with no expiration.

Can my rented costume be returned to get full refund?

Costumes rented cannot be returned with a full refund. In case a promised delivery doesn't reach you within time, full refund would be done for the costume and shipping charges.

When will I get the refund for returned items

The payment refund is initiated as soon as the costume is received and the reason for return is established. The money should ideally be credited to your BookMyCostume account within 4 working days thereafter.

How do I ship the return/exchange costume back to BookMyCostume?

Currently, we do not have a policy of the customer shipping the return package on his/her own. Please ensure that the return shipment is ready when the courier staff arrives.

When does the return pickup happen?

The return pickup happens one day after the function date when the costume is used.

What happens if my costume is unavailable for return on the pickup day?

We request you to have the fancy dress costume with all its accessories (if any) ready in a shippable condition. If the pickup staff has to return empty handed, it will be considered that the costume is being kept by the customer and the security deposit will be retained by the company.  

 

 

QUALITY & SAFETY

I am concerned about the quality and safety of the costume

Be rest assured, we take care of the quality and upkeep of the costume. For Rent orders, we might send a refurbished product however for all Buy orders we send a new costume. We have a stringent quality check procedure to ensure that the fancy dress costume is safe to be worn by kid of any age.

What is the quality standard of the rented costume?

We ensure that the rented costume is of high quality and your child does not look shabby wearing it. It also doesn't smell bad. We ensure this by selecting good quality clothing material for the costume and regularly washing it in a professional way for its good upkeep so that when we send it, it mostly looks like new (except completely white/cotton costumes). 

What will be the quality of a new costume I plan to buy?

We keep a stock of new costumes separate from the rental costumes and you will be delighted with its quality.

 

 

COSTUME AVAILABILITY

How can I make sure that I get my preferred costume on special occasions or festivals?

We encourage you to order your fancy dress early. We have seen that even after making arrangements, special occasion demand surpasses our estimates. To ensure that you do get your costume, simply book your costume as early as possible.

Will I be charged extra if I book my costume early?

Not at all, the costume will reach you as per your mentioned date and charges will be only as per the date booked even if delivery arrives early. Make sure that the function date is correctly added as the delivery and pickup date are calculated accordingly. In effect, the charges will be same or lower if you pre-book your costume.

What happens if a costume is not available for my size?

In such unusual scenarios and in peak season demand, we request you to contact us mentioning your size required and costume name. We will try and have it ready as quickly as possible to meet your needs.
